About Meadows Tracks and Trails

Meet Hannah, the person behind Meadows Tracks and Trails

Hey, I’m Hannah, the owner of Meadows Tracks and Trails. Based in Eastbourne, East Sussex, I offer mantrailing sessions across the surrounding area, helping dogs and their humans discover the fun and rewards of working together through scent.

I've been a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) since 2018 and share my life with three Golden Retrievers; Molly, Martha and Mabel. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and I've loved exploring different activities with them, particularly those that allow us to learn, work and grow together.

I'm passionate about helping dogs and their handlers discover the enjoyment and purpose of scent work, creating welcoming, practical and rewarding experiences for every team.

My journey into dog training and mantrailing

My involvement in dog training began long before I became an instructor. When I was 12, my parents finally allowed me to have my first dog, and my enthusiasm for learning and training together really took off. Even before then, I would happily walk my neighbours' and friends' dogs and help with their obedience training!

Over the years, I've enjoyed trying different activities with my own dogs, eventually discovering mantrailing. After several years of taking part in mantrailing sessions, I decided in 2026 that it was time to take the next step.

While continuing to work as a Registered Veterinary Nurse, I took the leap into becoming a mantrailing, tracking and trailing instructor. In 2026, I qualified with Tailing K9s following an intensive 10-day residential training experience in Wales.

Why I love mantrailing

I'm passionate about helping dogs and their handlers discover the enjoyment and purpose of scent work. One of the things I love about mantrailing is the opportunity it gives dogs to use their incredible sense of smell while working in partnership with their human.

For me, every team is different, and the experience should be rewarding for both ends of the lead. Whether you're taking your first steps into mantrailing or looking to build confidence in your existing skills, my aim is to make every session welcoming, practical and enjoyable.

A supportive approach, tailored to every team

My veterinary nursing background gives me a strong understanding of canine health, welfare and behaviour, and this knowledge informs the way I approach every mantrailing session.

I believe in being patient, supportive and attentive to the individual needs of each dog and handler team. I focus on clear explanations, achievable progress and positive training experiences, helping handlers understand the process while allowing their dogs the opportunity to learn.

Safety and canine welfare are at the heart of every activity. As a new instructor, I'm committed to continuing my professional development, sharing my enthusiasm and creating an encouraging environment in which every team can learn and progress at their own pace.

Meet my three Golden Girls

Life with three Golden Retrievers means there is never a dull moment! Molly, Martha and Mabel each have their own very different personalities, and they all bring something special to my life and my love of dogs.

Molly, 14, the retired lady

Molly is enjoying her well-earned retirement, but that doesn't mean she's ready to put her brain to rest! She's enjoyed the occasional scent class over the years and still loves the opportunity to use her nose and keep her mind active. She's a lovely reminder that enrichment and learning can be enjoyed at any age.

Martha, 5, the one who does things her way

Martha is our funny girl. She's strong-willed and likes to do things on her own terms! Although she's naturally timid and gentle, something special happens when she's mantrailing. She really comes alive, and it's wonderful to see a different side of her personality shine through. Watching her grow in confidence and express herself through scent work is one of the things I love most about the activity.

Mabel, 2, the little love bug

Mabel is full of love, not just for her own humans but for unfamiliar people and other dogs, too. She absolutely loves mantrailing, and when she's out working, her enthusiasm and character have a way of making everyone fall in love with her. She's a wonderful example of how much joy dogs can find in doing what they love.

All three girls have taught me something different, and sharing life with them has helped shape the way I see dogs, their individual needs and the importance of giving them opportunities to be themselves. They're a big part of my journey with dogs, and I'm so lucky to have them by my side.

Let’s track and trail together!
